Strengthening Our Youth, Strengthening Our Women, Strengthening Our Community - NPO 238-561

About Us

Boundaries Community Hub is a non-profit organisation with a Drop in centre that provides Life Skills and Social Work services to the youth and women with the aim of meeting their emotional, physical and social developmental needs.

At Boundaries Community Hub (BCH), we believe that when we engage with young people, their families and the community, we can provide safety, support and opportunities to build a brighter future.

We are dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and accepted regardless of their socio-economic background, gender, culture and sexual orientation.

What makes our NPO unique is that we respect each individual’s inherent dignity, individuality and worth. In providing our services, we are considerate of other people’s feelings, cultures and points of view. We do not impose our viewpoints on anyone seeking assistance from us; instead, we provide them with an environment in which they are free to express themselves without fear of judgement while maintaining their privacy.

Services

Since being founded in 2019, Boundaries Community Hub has been offering a variety of support services facilitated by qualified Social Workers and Social Auxiliary Workers for young people and women. These include:

  • Life Skills: These include focus, self-control, awareness, flexibility and self –regulation. No one is born with these skills but everyone can learn them through relevant practice, mentorship and coaching.
  • Counselling and psychological support: We address emotional, social, school, mental and physical health difficulties that young people and women may have at various phases of their lives, concentrating on everyday stresses as well as more serious issues that people may face as individuals, families, groups and social contexts. These issues include (but are not limited to) Gender-based violence, illiteracy, grief following the death of a loved one, depression and anxiety, HIV/AIDS, terminal illnesses, teenage pregnancy and substance abuse.
  • Homework support: Beneficiaries are assisted with school work outside the classroom and are provided with access to a space that encourages and enhances their learning.
  • School holiday educational programmes: We provide a wide range of activities that combine fun and learning. These include dance workshops, indigenous games and many more.
  • Referrals to other stakeholders: We assist beneficiaries who come from disadvantaged backgrounds by connecting them to stakeholders such as SASSA, the Department of Social Development, Home Affairs and Health services.
  • Other services that we provide include awareness campaigns and nutritional support (meals and food parcels) for our beneficiaries.
